"Be
in the world but not of the world,"
the Master Mind Jesus stated. There is so much going on in
the world today that it is almost impossible not to be affected by it in
a major way ... and some religious leaders have forgotten the words of
Jesus entirely:
In an interview with CNN, Robertson said he warned
the president before the Iraq invasion that the U.S. would sustain
casualties. Robertson said Bush responded, "Oh, no, we're not going
to have any casualties."
Robertson said he warned the president he had "deep
misgivings" and that God told him the war would be "A, a
disaster and, B, messy."
Robertson issued a follow-up statement Wednesday that said he believes
"the blessing of heaven" is on Bush and that Bush will win the
election and prevail in the war against terror.
Now, I know many of you will be asking why I am even bothering to
quote Pat Robertson ... but ... I think the real news here is that Bush
would even have this conversation with Pat Robertson. I wonder
what god Pat Robertson is referring to? ... the god of
ultra-conservative politics or the god of ultra-fundamentalist religion?
If there was a "BIG-MAN-IN-THE-SKY" god ... do you think he
would use words like disaster and messy? This is beyond laughable
... this borders on mental delusion ... and to think the current
president of the United States participates in such blatant blasphemy!
The Radical Rabbi Jesus taught that "it rains on the Good
and the bad alike" ... no one has any special "blessing of
heaven." Somehow the Christian fundamentalists and the
far-right republicans have created several gods ... the god of the
Christian world and the god of the Muslim world ... "my god is
BIGGER than their god." All of this I am sure to keep people in an
awareness of fear and separation from each other. If we keep
people thinking that somehow these non-Christians are separate and apart
from "our god" ... then the masses of people will not ask why,
in a "sowing and reaping" Universe we believe we can bring the
world to peace through war ... after all, the most basic teaching of the
Christianity is "as you sow, so shall you reap." How do
you sow war and reap peace? An intelligent person will look at the
Universe and realize that everything that we "sow" multiplies
... does not give us its opposite ... only more of what we sow. No
wonder so many intelligent Christians and true republicans are
abandoning these wacko religious/politicos.
Dr. Holmes included 84 pages in the Science of Mind, the textbook
of Religious Science, devoted to the Teachings of Jesus and the New
Testament. The Teachings of Jesus are the most profound work of
the ages and the Master Mind Jesus taught a relationship with God that
was so definite and so unlike the Christianity espoused by the Christian
fundamentalists and their political buddies. There is not your god
and my god ... there is only GOD ... One Almighty Presence, Power and
Intelligence permeating the Universe and beyond. This Presence is
within ALL ... everyone ... Christian, Jew, Muslim, Atheist ... and any
"conversations with God" must be in the language that is in
alignment with His nature ... love, peace, harmony, joy, understanding
.. "for He knows no iniquities" we can read in scripture.
As Dr. Holmes explains in the Science of Mind:
"All the mystics have recognized the absolute
unity of God and man. Within the Infinite Mind each individual
exists, not as a separated, but as a separate and distinct entity.
We are a point of Universal Consciousness, which is God. We are
not separated from Life, neither is It separated from us, but we are
separate entities in It, individualized centers of God
Consciousness." In the Book of Genesis, the first book of the
Bible, we can read that "God created man in His image and
likeness" .. man being the human race. "When you see
me, you see the Father," the highly enlightened Jesus stated
... in other words, you see peace, love, joy, harmony and understanding
... we see these things when we see anyone ... no matter what their
color, their race, their nationality, their religion or lack of religion
... we see the Father ... that's the way it is, Jesus said ... and all
the mystics have agreed with Him.
And
So It Is!
Maximum Love,
Rev.
