As a former Catholic, I understand the value of the teachings of
Catholicism. My family being Baptist, I attended the First
Baptist Church of Paris, Missouri in my early childhood years.
My sister married a Catholic and converted to Catholicism. One
day I went with her to Mass and I knew that the
Catholic Church had something very important for me and I
became fascinated with the teachings of the Catholic Church. In
my early twenties, I converted to Catholicism after taking
Confirmation classes in Portland, Oregon. I knew that this was a
path that I must travel and I attended Mass regularly more than once
or twice a week.
Catholicism
teaches a great faith in the "Unseen," Power and Presence
of God. However, I found as I studied the life of Jesus,
much of the traditions and dogma of the Catholic Church actually
contradicted the teachings of Jesus. This realization caused me
to seek other avenues of spiritual guidance.
In scripture we can
read, "seek and ye shall find." I found Religious
Science. In Religious Science, which is the "Religion
of Jesus," we know that, as did Jesus, this "Unseen"
Power and Presence Is All There Is. Throughout the Old and New
Testaments scripture after scripture confirms this conclusion.
Jesus demonstrated this Truth greater than any other person who has
walked on this planet. Others had His same theory and
philosophy, but could not demonstrate the visible results. Dr.
Ernest Holmes studied the life and work of Jesus and it was revealed
to him the method and practices of Jesus' prayer and philosophy.
Dr. Holmes, like Jesus, understood that this philosophy was worthless
without demonstrating it as Healing, Prospering and Blessing those who
seek our help, which is what all followers of Jesus are "Divinely
Called" to do.
The three
greatest revelations of Jesus' work discovered by Dr. Holmes
are: the "Law of Mind," stated by Jesus as "it is
done unto you as you believe." Since we can only
"believe" with our mind, the consistent attitude of our mind
is always "doing unto us." Nobody can do unto us, but
us, for it is done unto us as we believe. The second great
revelation that Dr. Holmes discovered in the work of Jesus was the Law
of Cause and Effect. Jesus stated this as "Sowing and
Reaping." Dr. Holmes demonstrated that as we sow the
thoughts, ideas, concepts and beliefs into the fertile soil of our
mind, we create the effects or experiences in our life. The
third great discovery and possibly the greatest is the method in which
Jesus prayed. Jesus first recognized that
God Is All There Is; All Power, All Presence and All Intelligence,
then He unified with this Allness of God ("I and the Father are
One"); He then realized that whatever he asked for "knowing
that it is His already" is His; and therefore He could give
thanks for it knowing that on the Unseen Side of Life it was beginning
the process of manifestation. He then could release any doubts,
worry or effort to "make it happen" and go on to whatever
was before Him. In the Science of Mind, the philosophy of
Religious Science, Dr. Holmes details this as the Five Steps of
Scientific Prayer: 1. Recognition, 2. Unification, 3.
Realization, 4. Thanksgiving and 5. Release. Scientific Prayer
is the Effective Method of Prayer practiced and demonstrated by Jesus.
I
discovered Religious Science through Divine Guidance. If you are
reading the information on this page, you too, have been Divinely
guided to this "Religion of Jesus." It may very well
be what you have believed all along. Please contact me
