"You
don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step."
-
Martin Luther King, Jr.
The indispensable first step to getting the things you want in this
life is this: Decide what you want. - Ben Stein
Everything that we are to accomplish begins with a decision.
As we can note from the statements above from Martin Luther King, Jr.
and Ben Stein not only must we make decisions, we must move in the
direction of the decision. The Universe cannot respond to maybe or
wishful thinking ..... it demands of us that we make a decision.
Effective prayer must affirm a decision that we have made. Without
a decision, prayer is no more effective in creating change in our life
than repeating a rhyme.
If we are experiencing something other than what we want ... we must
look at our commitment to the decisions we have made and examine our
thoughts and beliefs to determine if they are in alignment with our
decisions. Indecisiveness can become habitual and often we are not
even consciously aware of the words, thoughts, beliefs and actions that
are contrary to our decisions. A definite decision does not
contain "what ifs" or "detours" but a definite
action toward the goal. If we find ourselves not knowing how to
act ... then we must pray for clarity and be willing to spend time in
the Silence to receive Divine Guidance and Divine Inspiration. A
simple affirmation of, "I know what I need to know when I need to
know it" can work wonders to clear indecisiveness and confusion
from our consciousness.
Often after a decision is made "old stuff" will enter our
consciousness to create worry and anxiety. This worry and anxiety
can come in the form of "excuses" and "blame" and
these must be corrected in our consciousness. Dr. Raymond Charles
Barker, one of the greats of Religious Science and metaphysics, stated
that what we sometimes have to do is "mind surgery." We
must perform surgery on every thought and belief that is resident in our
consciousness .... cutting them out .... until they are eliminated and
our mind is focused and centered on solutions and progress.
Metaphysics promises growth and expansion but as the Master Mind Jesus
stated, "we cannot pour new wine into old wine skins."
If we are looking for transformation in our lives ...... then we must be
willing to "give up" who we are ... in order to be who we want
to be. A poverty consciousness will never demonstrate prosperity
..... prosperity will only manifest in our experience after we have
eliminated thoughts and beliefs that hold us in poverty. We must
always maintain authority and dominion over our thoughts and beliefs
....... otherwise the Infinite cannot do Its Perfect Work .... once
again I go to a statement from the Radical Rabbi Jesus .... "the
Father works ... and I work." In other words God can only do
for us .. what God can do through us. There is no other way ...
our "free will" to continue our miseries and reject the
Infinite Good is a powerful force that blocks our Good even from the
Almighty Love of God.
As we take the first step in the direction of our
decision we begin to step out of the image of who we don't want to be
and what we don't want to have in our experiences .... out into the
Infinite possibilities that is awaiting us.
And
So It Is!
