RevBates.tv Global - Weekly Message To The Masses for September 21, 2008

"William James said, "Believe in the good life, and believe that life is worth living, and your belief will cause this to become a fact." ... Cease identifying with failure, lack, and limitation.  Unite with your goals and aspirations.  Timidity is a state of mind.  The timid are usually consummate egotists who try to hide their egotism in mental retreat.  The timid must do the things that they fear to do, and the death of fear is certain.  We have to win with pleasure in the game of life and lose with a smile. " - Dr. Joseph Murphy, The Miracle of Mind Dynamics

Dr. Robert H. Schuller said, "tough times never last but tough people do."  And by "tough people" we can understand that he meant people who are determined and persistent. People who succeed in accomplishing their goals refrain from talking about their "tough times" or problems.  Instinctively they know that talking about what they don't want does not benefit them ... anymore than complaining or casting blame.  Most of us have felt a twinge of discouragement at times, but we don't dwell on it.  Instead we have learned to mentally direct our minds to that which we want.

Someone told me recently that they were told that "affirmations stink" ... that they don't work and are a waste of time.  But, the person that was making this statement was relying on their own mental capacity to actualize their affirmations.  "I of mine own self can do nothing," the Master Mind Jesus told us ... "My Father works, and I work."  In other words, we receive the desire for Good from the Source of All-Good, God ... and then it is our work to keep faith with this desire knowing that it is from God.  Faith is demonstrated as persistence and determination.  Affirmations are an "effect" of our persistence and determination ... not just in our own ability to demonstrate our Good desires, but in our faith that God is working with us to bring forth into our experience the Good desires of our heart.  Affirmations create within us the mental equivalent to "accept" the Good that we desire.  "Ask and it will be given to you" ... is a statement of Law ... but for someone mired in debt and lack of tangible money to "accept" greater prosperity thinking that it is their mind and thoughts alone that will accomplish this, is foolish at best.  We cannot deny God's role in providing our Good.  "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want" ... is the beginning of the 23rd Psalm.  "Lord" means our Law of Mind and "shepherd" is the "mental equivalent" that we embody to accept our Good.  "It is the Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom" ... we have been told.  But, God cannot give us what we cannot accept ... nor a kingdom when our mind is set on despair and poverty.

Triumphant living begins with giving our allegiance and devotion to God, Infinite Spirit ... and developing the awareness that this Spirit is within us, pressing against us, and surrounding us.  It is realizing that this Presence and Power that Created us ... can heal us mentally, physically and spiritually.  And we give our allegiance and devotion to God, Infinite Spirit, by refusing to give power to anything or anyone other than God.  We don't depend on doctors to heal our physical bodies ... we depend on God to lead us to the right people and things for our healing.  And often we need look no further than to our Creator.  To "depend on Principle" means that we look to God, first ... "the Father works" as Jesus stated ... and then we act on the guidance that moves through our mentality.  This guidance may flow through our mind as an affirmation ... or a vision of what is forthcoming.  "The "me" I see is the "me" I'll be," Dr. Schuller stated ... and he was absolutely correct.

Daily we should turn in mind, and mentally dwell on the Presence of God.  We should remind ourselves daily of God's boundless love and limitless power and God's willingness to give to us all the Good that we desire.  Our faith, energized by our determination and persistence, deepens within our consciousness that there is no power to challenge the action of God. In the scriptures we can read: "If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him immediately."  This is the Truth and the way to triumphant living for everyone.

Keep the faith!
