men (and women) are they who see that the spiritual is stronger than
any material force; that thoughts rule the world" stated
the great Ralph Waldo Emerson. But we must take this further and
realize that our thoughts rule our own personal world. Our
thoughts are always personal to us. We may allow ourselves to be
influenced by the people and experiences that we encounter in life,
but what we think about everything is personal to us. This is a
No one can think for
us and no one can disagree with this. And since our thoughts
create our faith it is wisdom to think about what we think about.
We have made idols of people, places and things because we give them
authority over our lives in sometimes subtle and sometimes not so
subtle ways. WE CONFORM. And in this conformity we lose
sight of our own soul's unique expression of Life. We conform to
the world's ideas of poverty, illness, lack and limitation when we
lose sight of the spiritual truth that we live because G-d lives in
us, that our good is not dependent on people and conditions, but
totally dependent upon the measure of faith we embody within our soul
(consciousness). Faith is spiritual power. It connects us
to the Source of infinite Intelligence, Spirit and Power.
Norman Vincent Peale writes in his book, "You Can If You Think
You Can" ... "Forget
yourself! Think courage. Believe that all the resources
you need are in your mind. That is a formula that works, really
When we say that all
the resources you need are in your mind we are not suggesting that the
dependence is solely upon mechanical mentality. The Divine Force
is in the mind, and it is only in mind that a human being can have
contact with God. A drawing upon spiritual power takes place
through the intellect, through the ability to think and believe.
Therefore the greatest of all resources, that of God power, is
available through a spiritually controlled operation of the thought
When the Bible says,
"The kingdom of God is within you," (Luke 17:21) it is
asserting that in essence all of God's power and truth are built into
you. And just where in you? Where else but in your mind!
Obviously, then, the principle that all the resources you need are in
your mind profoundly takes account of spiritual resources.
When anyone can be
persuaded to think spiritually, to have faith and to believe, then the
mind, being motivated to a higher level, opens to maximum strength and
the amazing powers it possesses go to work on situations to bring
about good results."
When we make a conscious effort to think spiritually, to have faith
and to believe in the good that we desire to experience, we can be
assured that our faith and belief will provide for us the
corresponding good for us to enjoy. Never limit your life by any
past experience or former belief. Free your mind to accept
generously all that you desire to have, to do or to be. When the
Master Mind Jesus revealed the truth that "the
kingdom of G-d is within you" his
message was that there is One Infinite Spirit and every time we think
or say "I
are revealing the measure of our acceptance of this truth for us.
The mystical Ernest Holmes
taught that "nothing
that you have ever said or done, no law that you may have set in
motion, is as great as "I Am." ... be still and know
that I Am the Creator and the thing created. My Presence
dissipates all apparent evil."
As we think spiritually and in terms of "I am" ... not I
will be, or think of that which I was, we shall find that being
repetitively conscious of these two words that connect us with that
infinite "I" which is G-d, will create some amazingly
wonderful things in our lives ... both the expected (that which we
have imagined for ourselves) and the unexpected. Let us tell
ourselves every day until we believe it is so, "my faith is
Spiritual Power" ... and let it be so.
SO IT IS!
