"Many,
Lord, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?” Let the
light of your face shine on us. Fill my heart with joy when
their grain and new wine abound. In peace I will lie down and
sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety." -
Psalm 4:6-8
"My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you— I
whom you have delivered." - Psalm 71:23
"For
you make me glad by your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what your
hands have done. How great are your works, Lord, how
profound your thoughts!" - Psalm 92:4-5
In
these affirmations taken from the ancient wisdom we can easily see the
pattern of thought that the Psalmist was using in order to demonstrate
the good that was desired. Long before the Master Mind Jesus
gave us the Principle that
"it is done unto you as you
believe"
the ancients were in fact using the Law of Mind which is
a Law of Correspondence. In this beginning of the realization
that G-d responds to us by corresponding to that which we declare to
be so, these affirmations offer us a way in which we can renew and
refresh our mind.
"For you
make me glad by your deeds, Lord" is
no different than the words the Master Mind Jesus used;
"My Father worketh hitherto, and I
work" ... he is declaring just as
the Psalmist did that G-d is the creator, we the receiver. And
so we must learn to be receptive to and expectant of our good that we
pray for and affirm that it "is" ours to
experience.
The mystical Ernest Holmes
in the early 20th Century realized a "thought pattern" that
he discovered was evident in the affirmations attributed to the Master
Mind Jesus. He wrote, "Let us now consider the four
elements that are usually contained in prayer that works, in thought
that is creative:
1. Recognition.
We know there is One Life, that Life is God. There is One
Creator, one creation. One Law. One Intelligence.
One Ultimate Reality. It is good, whole, perfect, complete,
harmonious.
2. Identification.
We identify ourselves with God. "I am that which Thou art,
Thou art that which I am." The Father (Spirit) and I are
one. There needs to be a conscious, intelligent sensing and
feeling of the Divine Presence within and as what we are. We are
a creation of God and we are expressing God. There is no
separation between us and God, we are one.
3. Declaration.
There is a definite and specific action and movement of intelligence
through thought, word, or idea for some definite purpose or
person. Not supplication, wishing, hoping, or begging, but a
concrete declaration of fact, a specializing of universal Good in some
way. There is definitely established in thought, the spiritual
level of cause and creativity, a complete idea. An idea to which
we may mentally point and know its reality as though we were pointing
to the sun and saying, "There is the sun." We know
that such a declaration of an idea is God speaking His word in us, God
being an active agent of His own creation.
4. Acceptance.
We accept our declaration, the word we have spoken, as being manifest
now. No delay is involved between this cause and its appearance
as effect. We accept that our word, the declaration that we have
made, is the supreme Intelligence speaking through us, and that
according to the nature of the way It works, through Law, our word
automatically manifests in accord with Law. And in our
acceptance of the reality of this good as a tangible effect in our
experience we give thanks that it is so, that as we now believe it is
done unto us.
To
realize that we are within G-d and that G-d is a living presence
within us, guarantees that we will have an experience that we can
surely identify as a direct result of this knowing. This
realization will come as a sense of joy that energizes our mind, our
heart and our soul ... not in the joy that the world knows, but that
feeling of joy that fills us with faith and trust in our ability to
accept more and more of that which gives us evidence of G-d's presence
within us and our eternal presence within G-d. When the Master
Mind Jesus had this realization he declared it as the truth for all of
us when he said,
"The Father (Spirit, Intelligence, Power) and I
(that infinite "I" that includes every one of us) are
one!"...
ONE! Not two. Not separate. ONE!
And in this spirit of joy we shall be prospered, healed and blessed
into the wholeness of health, happiness, prosperity, success and more!
AND
SO IT IS!
Keep
the
faith!
